Activated Fiesta Mole Walnuts

  • soak in plain (but purified) water for about 2-3 hours. This stage is to leach out the enzymes that inhibit digestion.
  • Drain and rinse
  • Soak in brine made from water and Sunfire salt (roughly 1 gallon of water and 2 tablespoons of Sunfire Salt). I soak for 24 hours. Drain, don’t rinse, then put in the dehydrator until sufficiently dried. For walnuts, this will take roughly 24 hours.
  • Take them out and put them in a big mixing bowl and drizzle David Favor’s olive oil (Bariani) on them, then a few tablespoons of fiesta mole and a tablespoon of Sunfire Salt. Rub it all in, then put back in the dehydrator for about 12 hours.
  • You can optionally add other spices to taste, for example, garlic powder and crushed red pepper
  • Remove and enjoy!
  • Note: this recipe also works with other nuts and is great with pepitas (pumpkin seeds)!

Chocolate Bliss Experiments

David Favor sent this out in an email recently, try them out and tell us what you think!

My primary food has been Chocolate Bliss since March 2004.

And I change it up a bit. Here are some of our house favorite variations.

For the banana variations, blend well. And adding extra banana in an ice cream machine makes some seriously decadent, frozen goodness.

1) Add a drop of essential oil to a glass. Great experiments - Orange, Frankincense, Rose.

2) Add a splash of Black Cherry, Pomegranate or other fruit juice.

3) Add a drop of Orange + splash of Black Cherry. This is one of my favorites.

4) 2 Cups liquid Chocolate Bliss + banana + 1/4 Cup Island Gold Coconut Oil + 1 Cup Blueberries.

5) 2 Cups liquid Chocolate Bliss + banana + 1/2 Cup or more fresh Durian. Way decadent!

6) Ice-ify your Chocolate Bliss. Put your Gallon 'o Bliss in the freezer till ice crystals just start to form.

7) Chia-ify your Chocolate Bliss. Add 1/8t+ of one or more cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg.
