Frequently Asked Questions (Or Ones That Should Be!)

1. What are Super Foods?
They are botanical foods that are nutrient dense and calorie sparse. Most foods that people consume are the opposite, calorie dense and nutrient sparse. Super Foods reverse this equation. To optimize your health you want to eat foods that provide an exceptional level of nutrients per calorie ingested, and that is precisely what super foods do!

2. How do Super Foods work?
Everything we eat, drink and breath is fuel to our bodies. That fuel has three basic components:

1.    Energy/strength/endurance
2.    Longevity substances/nutrient reserves
3.    Exhaust/elimination

When we consume cooked, processed and animal-based foods, they reduce our energy/strength/endurance, increase our exhaust/elimination and rapidly deplete our longevity substances/nutrient reserves.  On the other hand, Super foods burn quick and clean producing massive energy/strength/endurance, minimal exhaust/elimination and help to replenish our longevity substances/nutrient reserves.

3.
Aren’t Super Foods expensive?
Pound for pound, Super foods are more expensive but that is not the whole picture.

First, as you transition your diet to include more super foods, you’ll notice that the total amount of other foods you eat will decrease. The key question is how efficiently (both economically and nutritionally) are you filling up and satisfying your nutritional buckets? For example, your body needs a certain amount of a variety of nutrients. Take magnesium, for example. If you eat processed foods, your body may still be craving magnesium even after a large meal. Ever wonder why you have food cravings? One reason is that the body is still short on nutrients, even after eating. This happens particularly frequently after consuming processed and cooked foods, which have far fewer nutrients available for the body than do super foods. Super Foods simply provide the nutrients/fuel your body needs far more efficiently than cooked and processed foods.

Second, when you purchase your order and have it delivered to your home, there are no hidden costs. On the other hand, when you consume groceries you have many costs to consider: Delivery and purchase of product: cost of the actual groceries, carts, bags, gas, wear and tear on your vehicle. On the other hand, Super foods “piggy back” already existing transportation and use much less expensive storage.

Third, look at long term health costs. If you eat cheap processed foods today but have to deal with serious illness like cancer in 10-15 years, was that food you ate today genuinely inexpensive, or was it horribly expensive? Consuming higher quality, more nutrient dense foods and reducing your intake of processed and cooked foods should improve your overall health, helping you to reduce health care expenses and create a higher quality of life both now and into your “golden years”. Or think of it this way: would you rather be running and surfing and playing tennis when you’re 80, or living in a nursing home and paying those outrageous fees? Give your body premium fuel now so it can support you tomorrow.

Fourth, most people who transition to this eating style find that their ability to function productively increases significantly! If you can think and function at a higher level, clear away the brain fog, improve energy and concentration and mood, do you think that could help you be more effective in your work life and possibly increase your income? Again, if you want to support your brain and your body in functioning at their highest levels, give your body premium fuel and it will repay you many times over!

4. Why should I use nutritional supplements?

Super foods are a great start and are where we recommend most people begin this journey. But if you want to take your health to the next level, we recommend using a high quality food-based supplement like VitaSynergy for Men or Women, along with a strong anti-oxidant formula like the terrific new product from Healthforce. Why? Because we live in a world that is very different than the world our grandparents grew up in. There are tens of thousands of chemicals in our environment now that didn’t even exist 20 years ago! Our soil is depleted so foods have less nutrients than they had years ago. Many produce items are trucked or flown in from far away, increasing the time between when the item was harvested and when you finally consume it. And with every day that passes after harvesting, the nutrient content degrades. Add it all up and we are experience greater environmental and oxidative stress than at any time in history, and at the same time that our food supply has become nutritionally weakened. Supplementation with a quality product makes more sense now than ever before.

5. Why should I use a food-based supplement?

The body ALWAYS expects to receive nutrients with all their associated enzymes and co-factors. The body is not designed to receive isolated nutrients, period. That’s the first issue, don’t just give your body a nutrient, but ensure it’s getting everything along with that nutrient that it is designed to expect to receive. Second, regardless of what the makers of cheap synthetic supplements tell you, there is a huge biolgical difference between food-based nutrients and synthetic ones. The body deals with real vitamin C very differently than it does with ascorbic acid. The best advice we can give you is try food-based nutrients for 3 months and if you’re not convinced of the difference, go back to your one-a-days and see what happens. We guarantee you’ll see very clearly that your body reacts quite differently to the two inputs.
